Ever noticed that the packaged food may not be manufactured on the month it actually got packaged on..
On the food packets date its packed on is mentioned but ever wondered if the food being packed was manufactured the same day or not.. there are instances when food packets also have small pests inside along with the food... how far should one keep a check on manufacturing and packaging dates....
Apart from that there are pre - printed bags also used .. how far should the citizens arise and awake to all this ... should all this be explictly mentioned .. whats your say

I have also observed this. This is the responsibility of the shopkeeper or retailer who all are selling this packet food. They have to be genuine. I think there is law that you can't keep the expired date food. Ignite some light in Food department who can watch on manufactures as well as on retailers.
I say if you're so much against it, just stop eating those packed food. My new rule for myself is, if I don't understand the ingredient name or don't know how it is made, better avoid it altogether if I have a choice. It's not worth fighting for it. It's like tobacco growers/cigarette makers and smokers. Smoking is in your hand, not the tobacco farming/cigarette smoking.
I am agreeing with Dishant .. It all depends on shopkeeper ..
If the place where the food gets manufactured and packaged is the same and as such if the manufacture and processing and packaging are part of one closed loop, then there are less chances of these differences in actual and printed dates.
But if any delay or transportation is involved between manufacturing and packaging; then one can feel sceptical abt these packaginf dates.
In consumables the aerated drinks are the worst examples of such things
Yes... Have noticed it. Also I guess we shd educate & encourage ppl to verify this.
We are on a life style in which we cannot avoide frozen foods so educatg ppl is the only way
Yes few years ago I came across one packet of would you beleive - Parle G, which I ate in the month before it was manufactured.
Its true.
On products, they either print “Manufacture” date or “Packaging” Date.
Hardly few products you will find on which all 3 dates are displayed.
Generally expiry date is calculated by considering Manufacturing date only.
So it is our responsibility to check the dates before buying any product :)
And it is shopkeeper responsibility not to keep expired date food. Many times we observe that they keep such food n people also buy them blindly.
@thanks everyone for your views. One thing is for sure customers need to buy products only after seeing the dates mentioned
I don't know if you guys have noticed it... I saw some of the packets showing the months of the future...!!
I noticed it twice with two different international brands in a mall of Singapore.
