someone's lost his senses..or did he have at all ;)

Now this is some real funny news I’ve ever heard… Mr Bush has problem with the eating habits of Indians..

“Indian food habits were contributing to spiralling prices of commodities, which in turn, were worsening the global food crisis. PTI

News says “Mr Bush had praised the fast growth of developing countries but pointed out that India’s growing middle class was pushing up consumption leading to higher food prices. He said that prosperity in countries like India is good but that it led to demands for “better nutrition.” “That’s bigger than America... and when you start getting wealth, you start demanding better nutrition and better food. And so demand is high, and that causes the price to go up,” Mr Bush said. He had also pegged the Indian middle class at 350 million people who were pushing up food prices. US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice had also linked the growing wealth of Indians and Chinese in pushing up food prices. ”
Mr Bush’s remarks had led to outrage among India’s political classes with defence minister A K Anthony calling it a `cruel joke’.
“Mr Anthony had further pointed out that the policies of the US which included diversion of agriculture land for bio-fuel purposes, was contributing to the global food shortage.”
________
Its always true.. things beneath the nose are hardly seen.. such is in the case of Mr Bush.
How could he not see the food waste they create in terms of bottled/canned/processed food that reaches expiry and is never consumed but wasted and the obese Americans consumption ( not forget the obese statistics of Americans..)

-- 63% of Americans are overweight with a Body Mass Index (BMI) in excess of 25.0.-- 31% are obese with a BMI in excess of 30.0.-- Childhood obesity in the United States has more than tripled in the past two decades.
Above figures are taken from the following link

Where as Wiki says obese Indians to be just 5% of country’s population and majority of people still living under poverty line, who can barely manage to get two times meals..

Mr Bush is standing up and sticking to his image like a blond… (we ve lost the track of the count also)
Why don’t you control your own resources before pointing fingers… !!!

Here comes the same old indian mentality of over hyping, over blowing every single piece of news and in turn destort it to the extent that what is conveyed is eveything but truth. :)

If India has started eating more thats good. If India has started consuming more crude .. again good. Shows the progress that we have made. Has he blamed india for this? He just mentioned the statistics that among other reasons this is a reason for global food and crude price inflation ..can you deny that?

Bhavesh bhai.. bush tamne green card toh nathi aapva noh ne ;)
wat does this statement mean "“Indian food habits were contributing to spiralling prices of commodities, which in turn, were worsening the global food crisis" isnt that blaiming.. and y point fingers.. he can put a check on wat they can do to help resolve/lessen this global food and oil crises .. by wat ever means they can .. its jus trying to shift focus from self to other nations by this way ..,

It means what it is supposed to mean.. Yes our eating habits are changing. yes we are consuming more food than what we used to..yes world has not enough stock of food at this point in time and yes this is one of the reasons for inflation. did he suggest you stop eating what you are? if something is proven statistically how can you deny that. or better still why would you want to deny that? apart from emotional reasons? ;) if someone asks you why the global food prices are spiraling, what answer would you give BTW?

Hey...

It was funny indeed.

I recently got an SMS joke... So, thought of sharing..

India is responsible for food crisis - says Bush

India is responsible for petroleum crisis - says US

Thank God Hillery is not pregnant.
